I have had a focus this year so far, or even the last 6-9 months back in 2022 about relationships, and how important they are for our health, wellbeing, and safety.
I was also watching a documentary series last night about the same things I have been posting on here recently. What our health really means to us, and how we can really control it and alter it to the best of our ability with what we have available to us (which is a lot).
I remember saying in one of my recent articles that 90% of disease we see today are ALL lifestyle related, meaning we have the tools and ability NOW to change them. Now, even more so, what I am learning is we have the tools now like I said, and that means we don't need a prescription, pill, supplement, or Doctor's orders in fact to change our condition. We have everything we need. It is amazing.
What EXACTLY do I mean by everything?
Well, I'll tell you that our breath has the power to stop our body's immune system from reacting to E.Coli bacteria, allowing it to pass through without having vaumoting, naseua, extreme chills and sickness for hours.. (1) We can have the power with our most basic and essential part of life that we need, to stop ourselves from experiencing symptoms of sickness, or dis-ease that can actually lead to more sickness down the road, e.g., having a weakened immune system long term actually leading to more sickness..
There are so many more examples of this in what we already have around us, a couple more ones being the food we choose to eat or not eat plays a HUGE role on our health and experiencing real health or not (obvious one), getting out in the sun, how hydrated we are, the movement we involve ourselves in each day, and connecting to our environment and the people around us on a deep level all play integral parts to the 90% mentioned above. This stuff is usually not expensive like a new surgery, or behind lock and key, like a lot of high level supplements that are usually out of reach. These are all things we have access to NOW.
Anyways, to get to the point of this article, I want to share what I have been learning so much about the last couple of weeks. I have even made an article post about it before. When you read something once (or write about it), it doesn't mean you learn it though, and heck, we're not even talking about application!
I do have some clients that are rockstars at this, which I think is great.
Social connection.
Not social media.
Not networking with people you want business from.
Not social drinking, or hang out.
Deep, social connection. Love.
This is something that I have found to be one of the main co-factors for a healthy, pain free, stress free, and great quality-long lived life.
I think I have even got lost in the weeds with what food to eat, or not to eat, the timing, sets, repetitions, volume of training and what specific sleep schedule will help with your methylation and melatonin recovery cycle to assist with the pathway of....... "blah blah blah".
Haha, sometimes we can all get too lost in the weeds, and I know in my field I love learning about the background of why, because it's so cool how we have a universe in our bodies, BUT the simple things are actually what help us live a great and happy life.
The people that live in the blue zones (longest living humans on average in the world, e.g., Japan, Mediterranean/Sardinia, etc.) are usually very tight knit with their family, and they have a family meal every night with the family they've lived with for years, their kids, their grandkids, or childhood friends. They also grow and tend to the food that they eat for their day and they are constantly moving around to have it be ready to eat.
So there is a lot that goes into this, and I feel like I can go on and on.. I also don't want this post to be very long. Having these deep social ties with people that we care about and having the connection to them with love, respect, and gathering can HUGELY increase the amount of healthy life that we have (not living in pain, inflammation, or chronic disease). The longest living people, and the healthiest people are the ones who really have that deep social tie to close to loved ones that they interact on a daily basis. They live a long time and they don't have the chronic, aging diseases that most people get in the west about 30 years earlier. They are usually still hiking, moving around, and planting their own food well into their 110's years of living. Crazy to hear, right? But it is true.
If you want to learn more information, I have been learning from the new book, Young Forever, by Dr. Mark Hyman. It has been a GREAT listen so far, and so exciting to hear how he explains it. He has been researching this for 30+ years as a practicing Doctor, and I can learn from him without having to do all of that myself, haha!
Fun fact: He is 63 years chronologically, but his biological age is 43 years!! 43 years young! The health of our body and the time that we have been here don't have to be the same. Sadly, for most people it is the opposite. Most people have a biological age (age of their body) WAY older than their chronological age (how many years since they were born).
If you want to decrease your biological age, we've known for about 30 years now that it is possible, and on this website, EVERYTHING is geared towards that. Keep reading on.
