Eat more of this

Brussel Sprouts.

Brussel sprouts are high in a phytochemical (plant nutrient) called Sulforaphane.

This chemical has been shown in studies to reduce the age of our DNA, which is the age of our cells. The age of our cells is our biological age, or how "old/young" we actually are, irrelevant of our chronological age.

I cooked brussel sprouts the other week in the oven, salted them before hand and blanched (cooked in a pot of water) for 8 minutes. I added salt and pepper and they were AMAZING!

I actually made three flavors, chipotle seasoning, garlic powder, and then just salt/pepper.

Salt pepper was BY FAR my favorite. They were so good, and with Avocado oil, they were great and very healthy.

These have so many phytochemicals in them that help with you aging less quickly, staying more youthful in your energy too, and to just treat your body to something good.

I remember talking about with someone that when you are used to feeling "non-optimal"/bad all the time, you don't notice or actually realize it until you start eating better, and you're like wow! I am not farting all the time, in pain, "stuffed", bloated, joints don't hurt, I wake up with energy, and feel happy again!

Yes, the food that we eat (fast food, junk food, and processed food additives, anything that comes from a box,) actually can turn off genes that are related to happiness and producing serotonin, dopamine, etc.

So when we eat the foods that give back to us, then we start to turn on the genes that are involved in longevity, happiness, easy function for your body, instead of hard and painful function.

Anyways, brussel sprouts is one fantastic way to start turning on those pathways in your body that lead to more longevity, happiness, and a good quality of life.

Rough recipe:

Cut the sprouts in half, length-wise.

Blanch for 8 minutes, add a pinch of salt to be absorbed deep in the flesh of the vegetable.

Turn oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit.

Let the sprouts cool for 5 minutes, add salt/pepper, a little bit of olive/avocado oil in a bowl.

Get a baking sheet out and put more olive/avocado oil on it, and put the sprouts face down, put in the oven for 25-30 minutes.

Bam. Happy living y'all!
