The reason you are stuck

Now you might be asking what this next journal entry post is about, what can you gain from this "being stuck" talk?

This is something that can get you to drill in change forever. This is not some motivational "whoo-ha" that you are about to read.

First off:

What is THAT GOAL for you? You know the one..

Why did that bring you here? There's a reason.

Either jot these down or be real and say it out loud for yourself. Call yourself out (in a good way).

Be done bullshitting yourself or not lining up your real wants with your real goals.

Shining the light on your what, the why (reason) is the start to actually achieving the results you have always dreamed of, even though it may feel like it is on a fish hook being dangled in front of you.

I have coached over 600 athletes and clients, both young and old, professionals at the highest level (who we watch on TV), and people who have dropped 50lbs+ in weight loss programs;

The biggest similarity in people who have successfully changed and lived out their goals is:

KNOWING THEIR WHY!

ree

This brings us into the next part, which funny enough, this is where most of us (me included) tend to want to start in our goal process.

Now we can go into the how:

Signing up for classes, changing your diet, deciding on this workout or that workout. This is now where all of that makes sense. Once you have your why, that can endure you through any how. (Remember this as I push you during the training sessions, don't hit me through the camera, or in-person).

Also, a point on this picture above, Viktor Frankl was a holocaust survivor from multiple concentration camps, he wrote the praised book, Man's search for meaning, after experiencing the death of his wife, deep introspection into the meaning of life thereafter, and he carried on this purpose into helping others find meaning in life through hardship and suffering. Wow, what a powerful meaning.

Now I am going to do something that coincidentally most fitness coaches, or even life coaches don't do. I am going to have you tell me the "to-do's", the how's in achieving your goal.

What are the steps you could take now to actually achieve your goal?

Or what steps would you take to actually achieve your goal?

This is something that I may already know (partly hubris of me), or there may be rules laid out that we all know can get you to your goal, but I don't want me or anyone else to tell you what to do, or how it's going to be done. I want you to tell me, to tell your coach. (It's almost a way of saying F*** off, I know what I'm doing, but in a really nice way;) ).

What does it feel like to lay out your own plan, and now have your coach, help you on your plan, rather than have them (or me) smash their plan down your throat..

Trust me, I've tried the latter. It doesn't work.

Now you have a coach that works with you (pretty much for you) rather than what tends to feel, the other way around. This is something, again that separates the clients that I have had the joy and honor of helping them achieve their real goals that mattered to them.

These are the people that have spent the time with me discussing their why, meeting with me on it, journaling about it. They set the foundation in their goal building, so no matter what wind of life (bills, kids, emergencies) comes, their building won't come crashing down.

It all starts with laying one brick, with laying out your why,

Take action, get started on the goal you now KNOW you can achieve.
