Getting real with your goals

It's the workout, it's "8:00pm on a Wednesday night", you've set a goal to make something happen and you feel the strains running thin. This is where we find ourselves from time to time, or maybe, a lot of the time! Was there ever a time where you felt rushed, "spun around", or time crunched, specifically while working out?

If you are like Dwayne the Rock Johnson, then you probably haven't. If you are like the most of us, then the answer is yes, or "heck, when have I not felt that way?"

Most of us deal with the thoughts, feelings, and overall busy life schedule that may put us in a different mindset during the workout, or even get us to not keep an active lifestyle at all.

What do I have to say to that as a health and fitness coach?

That is okay!

This is something that everybody deals with, feels, and faces, and the best thing is.. It may be what brought you here!

The step one in my training program is to take a real, objective look at the way we are living our lives now, and seeing what kind of results we are getting from this way of living.

So what are the mindsets, strategies, and approaches (workouts, training) that you have used thus far to achieve your goals?

Write them down in a journal or type them in a document.

Now, which of the above written, has helped to instill lasting change in your body, health, and fitness goals, and which do you do consistently? The best thing is, no one will ever see this if you choose, so be completely honest with yourself.

What methods that you've used, have actually worked as you thought it would, or maybe even better to give you the health you deserve and love having?

If you have some that have provided more than enough joy in practicing, measurable results, and consistent practice, then man.. you are one lucky dog! Keep that method in your back pocket.

If some of the methods made their way to the "trash bin", then that's great too. A clean slate is the best way to build a strong foundation of brick on.

So why am I asking all of these questions?

One. I like asking questions.

Two. You've already begun the first steps in the process of creating a new fitness goal with me. This is the same "method" of questioning that I use to find a set of goals specifically for what my client wants. One part I love about this: YOU already did the first part. You've cleared what doesn't work, so now we have room to set a blue print, a foundation for what will work.

Why will it work? Because now, you are ridding the fads, the same "I'm going to start running outside", or treadmill workouts that you have tried time and time again!

Isn't time we take radical change in our goal setting strategy, our way of approaching fitness if it hasn't been working for the past couple years? (5 years, 10 years, 40+ years), I've seen it all.

As I mentioned, we've already done a huge portion of the work, mainly by doing what people fail to do on their own, which is change the way of thinking, doing, and the approach towards their life fitness goals! Goals that truly matter to people, but often get pushed down the drain.

Now how do we pull those back out, clean them off, and shine them in the light? Think of how it would feel to be proud of your fitness goals, something that you take pride in living, feeling.. and your body shows it!

Let's be honest for a second, if you look around anywhere at the grocery store, your workplace, or as you're running errands, do you see a lot of people that you think represent, look, and embody their fitness goals? (Vibrant, energized, oozing longevity, and at healthy body weight?) Maybe less times than not, to say the least!

Now, to begin with, there are many people out there, who DO live and embody their fitness goals, and they are very happy with the body and lifestyle they live, no matter what their outside body looks like!

But this is not why you are here is it..?

As someone on their fitness journey, whether it's first starting out, in the midst, or a pro wanting to level up their game; having a helping hand from a coach can often lead to new heights, earlier unimaginable.

A big part of this, is that many people are stuck in the same mind frame, the same practices that they have been doing for years, or even decades. (We've already cleared those out for us above!)

If you've read this far, I know you are serious, I know you are willing to commit, and you are here for a reason.

Let's discuss this reason, get crystal clear on it, so when the inevitable days of fog or mist arise, we always have sight and reach into our "why", the reason why our fitness is a must to achieve.

Take a minute or two to write down your reason why you are here;

Why do you want to feel healthy, vibrant, energized and vitalized from your workouts/lifestyle?

Why do you want to enjoy how you look, feel, and how others may look at you?

Again, no one will see this if you choose. Be honest, and even more fun, be as creative and "no limits" as possible here!

Choose exactly why you want to achieve YOUR fitness goals, how you want to feel after you've achieved them, and how it might be even better than what you originally thought! Have fun with it! This part is up to you. You determine the level of fitness that you will achieve, by deciding what you are satisfied with achieving, and nothing less. You have the power to set your own "bottom line".

"by deciding what you are satisfied with achieving, and nothing less. You have the power to set your own bottom line."

Now that we've established our why, our reason, this is where the next step begins. The importance here is to keep the momentum going as this is the point, where our goals either move forward and become our reality, or they become another item on our very first "didn't work list".

So what is the next step?

This is to commit to a change from what you are doing now, from what you've been doing. Taking new action in order for REAL change to take place. As a coach, I have to do the same thing, being "coached" by other coaches or in being trained by other trainers.

This is what allows me to be the best I can be, and of course, coach you guys the best I can!

Now I would be remised, if I did not let you know that right now, you can take action on your goals by signing up for one of the program offerings I have, each designed specifically for getting you to your certain goal area. After all, I am a coach who has done this with 100+ clients effectively!

Or, you can sign up for one on one training sessions with me, focused entirely on your specific goal, with nutrition coaching (to speed up and "double attack" your goals), mindset coaching, to be done in either an in-person or one on format.

Finally, you really have the choice to choose any online program or coach out there..

My "why", my reason for doing what I do.. I've committed my whole life to this, is to help you realize that you have the power to set goals and actually make them happen through precise planning, measurement, and guidance!

I share this with you, as I feel it important for you to know why, as your coach I am here to be on your team in this journey, and seeming as we've already worked together during this article, we can keep moving forward together.

Are you going to let this be a "set and forget" or I want to make this happen?

or is it a MUST happen and will happen?
