If used correctly, this can get you to your dream goal. If not, this will bar you forever.

Hi!

I am obsessed with my why. With what I do, why I do it, and who I am doing it for. That of course, is why I am here! I think this power of knowing your why is singlehandedly, the most powerful tool we have to change our life.

Stated. Put it in stone. Etch that in.

Let me ask you a question. When was the last time you’ve heard a same story be told over and over? Well now the development of the story, and ending, is predictable, due to the fact that you have heard it multiple times, right?

The rabbit and the turtle.

”____ and steady wins the race“

"The boy with wax wings flew too close to what?"

"The little pig who built the house out of _____ survived."

We all know these. I had to refresh myself on the little pigs one.. We have all heard these stories and know the outcomes, the results that come from these, as long as the story doesn't change right?

Think about the story your tell yourself for certain areas of your life. The reason why you are who you are, what made you believe what you believe about finances, emotions, fitness, people, spirituality, relationships, eating. We all have a story of how we got our beliefs, and what they mean. Why is this important? Well, think about the stories, fables I mentioned above, when a story is told over and over, the ending, or result is already known because you've heard it over and over

The longer I am privileged to do what I do; helping people find joy in physical vitality, fun nutritional lifestyle, emotional robustness, lasting relationships, and deep spiritual connection, I start to see patterns emerge from coaching over 100's of clients and athletes, and myself too!

I have had the honor to help people who have a story they so beautifully play, but it so horribly affecting their life. From people who have who tried everything to lose weight, people living deep in depression and suicidal thoughts, and people who have been forcefully raped.

These are all things that really did happen or are a real experience for someone. I truly appreciate their honesty and grace for sharing with me.

Now, if we bring it back to the stories, if we took them all literally, we would know, as mentioned what happens when we hear a story over and over, the outcome, where it's heading.

But what if there was a possibility to change the story before it got to the end?

What effect, would this have on the story? How would you know what the ending is? (Well you wouldn't completely, isn't that part of the fun?)

How would you go about changing the story? These are some questions that pop up in my head, at least.

If we change the story, this would change the meaning it has in our lives.. From trying everything to lose weight and nothing works, to getting closer to what will work in losing weight.

How do you think that would shape someone's perspective on their story? No matter what it is. Some, listed above, things you or I would never choose to experience. Things that may seem small and unimportant to one person, but is huge and devastating to someone else, and the same thing, advantageous and meaningful to someone else. This can be the difference between becoming a victim of your circumstances, or a creator. Don't you think this would have an affect on the action they take in their lives after? How they treat people, or view others?

Whatever meaning we create from the stories we tell ourselves, will determine the action we take.

I have seen first hand the power of changing the story and narrative of your life. I have seen what the person who takes the hardship, the unfairness, the challenges in life, and makes them an advantage and meaningful can do. Many great things. We have all heard about it in stories, books, and memoirs of successful people that we come across. David Goggins and his tortuous past, Les Brown and his self-doubt, and Nelson Mandela and his society imposed isolation.

What do all of these people have in common?

What are they doing that we may not be able to see right away or clearly?

How did they use their hardships in life (many) to improve millions of people's lives each?

They changed the narrative. Flipped the script. Took the pencil, and started writing their own story.

The sooner you change the story, the meaning changes, and the sooner the action (and results) follow.

  • Last thing:

If you are serious about getting to the results you have dreamed of, what you have been trying to do for months/years, maybe decades.. then I have a challenge for you that can work if you do it right. If you are serious enough about this, about achieving what you set out and want, this is the time to take the action. Let's figure out your stories.

What is the time specifically in life, where you set out on that goal that you are thinking of? You know the one. You've been thinking about it while reading this. Get deep with this, have fun with it, this is a gift to yourself!

Once you have the specific moment of when you set out on the goal, why did you decide this was important to you? What was going on around you? Who were you with? How did you feel? Why might you have decided to set out for that goal? Be honest here. Brutally honest. You've committed this far just by reading here. Don't be one of those people who stops short right before something big. That's a world of negative stories again, sadly like many people around us.

Finally, once you have in detail why you set out for that goal, what was going on..

Now ask yourself, how can I turn (your experience/setting the goal) into the best thing that ever happened to me, providing joy, gratitude, and focus/connection/purpose into my life?

Have fun with this, change some of the wording to what you value in life. Family, love, security, fun and adventure.

Congratulate yourself. You just took time to connect and get real on what matters to you, something 99% of the population won't do. This is a meaningful moment for yourself.

I now know, if you are reading this far, then you don't want to be in the 99% of the crowd do you?
