Have you ever woken up and feeling like a train has hit you? Was this from a night from restless sleep or drinking a little too much of that red wine? .. Or really was this from something that you have been noticing wearing on you. Aging. The number one thing you want to do at that moment, is either get back to sleep, or if you want to or have to get up, than it is to feel back to normal and energized for the day. Well here, I'll walk your through what I have my own clients do when they wake up to start off their day right, with energy, feeling vibrant, and able to last the whole day without a problem. It's drinking a cup of coffee with creamer and 2 3/4 sugar added. Just kidding. In order to have the full and lasting energy you want all day, this would not be the best start. There is another drink, though, that has been recently revealed to have the best effects on energizing your cells and giving you that morning boost that you need as you start your day, and plan it out. It's this thing called water, and it has been revealed since humans have been around to be the one thing that delivers us the most consistent, and constant energy behind oxygen. Thankfully, this too delivers oxygen to our cells and keeps our blood doing it's job. I love this liquid drink so much, because of the simplicity of it. Have a glass of water by your bed for you when you wake up in the morning, and you are giving your body what it needs. It also has rejuvenating effects for your skin and keeping a younger look, each day building on itself to keep you younger looking on the outside too. Not a bad option. (Palma L, 2015) The second thing that you want to start your morning off with is movement. This can be multiple different types, stretching, walking (this will tie in with the last step), or even movement occurring while on the toilet... in some sort. What does this actually do, and what's the point? "I'm going to workout later, or I don't want to move right now". Even a small amount of movement in the morning helps your blood actually get moving, compounding on the positive effect of the water that you just drank. You're allowing your body to kickstart itself in it's natural way, and get your blood pumping (literally) and hormones moving as they should. You will thank yourself at 2:00pm when your hormones are better optimized. (Yes, if you drink coffee, or change the level of your hormones too drastically when you wake up with stimulants, they will crash way before than they are supposed to naturally decline throughout the afternoon.) Make sense? I, myself take a cold shower to really have my blood pumping, and get my lymph moving as well, which is clearing a lot of debris and cellular waste from my body, right away in the beginning of the day. Plus I feel so refreshed! I really only go in for about 30 seconds, and no matter how I felt before, I am awake after! The question I like to ask here, is what really creates or gives us energy??? Food, sleep, water? These may give us the building blocks, but oxygen and our cells together to create what's called ATP, our source of cellular energy from our mitochondria is what creates energy. Movement brings fresh oxygen and blood around our body, giving us the chance to create energy for ourselves. If we don't move or have blood flowing, then we have no energy, and aren't giving ourselves the chance to create any. Think: What usually doesn't move and have blood flowing? Would you call it dead, or alive? Get some light. Going outside and getting sunlight (or even through your window) is such a head start for your energy throughout the day. This starts the natural wake cycle that our eyes have gotten used to by seeing the sun, or sunlight in some way as we wake. This again puts you on the right track with your metabolic and hormone profile throughout the day, and can give you that boost of energy you need as you wake, and may I mention it is clean energy. You're not driving your body into the ground from this. If you go for a walk, or a run, or even workout outside, now you are combining the two, and this will give you the clean boost for your health and energy you need to perform at a high level all day, and not crash. One last thing. If in the beginning you feel there is a struggle to keep the energy, or even stay awake during this routine because it is different. That may be a sign from a complex being saying that maybe the routine that you've been doing and the way you have been living has put you so far behind, that you need to allow your body time to get back on track. Let's get moving, so you can start making progress. No more time to sit on the bench and wait for your health to get so bad that you need to keep using things, and then eventually end up with a health problem just like everybody else. The time is now to start changing. What do you currently do for your morning routine? Have you tried any of these before?
