Who here has ridden on an airplane?
If you have or even haven't, the beginning part of the flight always outlines the safety measures before taking flight. Either a video of a flight attendant or one in-person will be walking you through where the exits are, how to buckle in, and when/where to walk safely in-flight. Basically giving you an outline of what not to do when sh*t hits the fan. Another part that they go over is in the event that oxygen runs out in the cabin, masks will drop that allow you and surrounding others to breathe if the chance that there is low oxygen. Then they precede tell you to put the mask on your kid and surrounding others, before yourself.
Right?
Not right.
They tell you to put the mask on yourself first, before you put any on your kids, and anybody surrounding yourself. Including your grandpa. Those selfish, non-hearted bastards.
Have you ever heard the saying, "you have to feed yourself, before you feed anybody else"?
This rings true as if you are ever in a position to help, lead, or take care of others. Anybody reading this have kids, friends, or someone that may ever rely on you, ever?
I would guess that the answer may be a yes.
If you are not taking care of your mind, your emotions, your fitness and ability to handle your own life, how will you be able to take care/help improve anybody else's ability to do so?
If you consider yourself someone who likes to help others, or you enjoy the act of helping someone have a better day, learn something, or improve themselves, this is crucial to keep in mind.
Best,
